BOING BOING has been facilitating new moms groups since 1996. We know how essential it is for you to be connected with other moms, during this unique and challenging time. Here you can solve problems, share stories, get advice, and most importantly-have a reason to leave the house at least one day each week!
The benefits don’t end when you graduate. All of the members stay connected through their very own list serv, which is yours to use for years to come. So don’t be alone, because you are not. There’s one easy and cheap solution to this problem – join a mothers’ group.
Why Join Us?

Effective Way for Moms to Beat Isolation
Isolation, which often leads to depression and loneliness, is a common complaint among stay-at-home moms. However, being part of a mothers’ group can help moms beat isolation. The weekly meetings give new mothers an extra incentive to leave the house, which in itself is an accomplishment some days!
Forming Friendships With Other Mothers
The opportunity to meet and get together with women going through similar trials and developmental touchpoints is something you can only find within a group of your peers. Our mothers group recognize this essential truth, and form our groups based on your baby’s D.O.B.
Meeting Moms In your Neighborhood
Women in mothers’ groups have one thing in common – motherhood, also known as the most demanding job in the world. But they also come from all walks of life and have different views, home life and ways of raising children. While trying to fit in among the group may be a challenge as first, your life will be all the richer for having done so. We accept moms from all walks of life, and find the cross section of members to be essential for comparing ideas and information.
Where are the Meetings?
Mother groups meet weekly at boing! at 461 7th Ave near 16th St.
The groups are based on your baby’s D.O.B. Once you’re a member, you will join the moms group that starts the month of your baby’s birth. We meet at boing! in the south slope, in a sanctuary that was created with you in mind. There’s plenty of room to nurse, sit back, change your baby, etc. A lactation counselor is available to help guide you through those first difficult weeks of nursing. A baby scale and changing station is also readily available at no cost. There will be guest speakers from the local post partum community to offer more information. These workshops are free for members, and included in your membership.
How Many Meetings?
You can start coming to meetings the first week of the month of your baby’s D.OB. There will be at least 5 meetings within 2 months. You’re welcome tocome to as many as you like for no extra charge. $75.00 allows you to become a member of any of the other groups as well. We make room for those early and late babies! We make room for you.
Welcome.
